Intervention Design

Our work begins with observation: why do people do what they do? Sometimes, the answer can be discovered by simply asking them. But much of human behaviour stems from unconscious instincts and biases; most people are unaware of the real reasons behind their actions. Our philosophy, grounded in decades of psychological research, holds that most behaviours are shaped by four key forces: social copying, social stigma, social proof and what we call “unconscious irritants.” We approach every problem by examining how these factors influence behaviour, and how each can be subtly adjusted or “nudged” through awareness campaigns, smart communication or innovative real-world interventions to create meaningful change.

Information Gathering

Insights are key. While we collaborate with national polling agencies, we prefer more oblique forms of information gathering. With decades of experience in marketing and social policy, we draw on a broad network of experts who not only understand how to reach an audience but also how to navigate the communication frameworks that influence them. Our approach emphasizes open-ended conversations with key stakeholders to uncover the deeper causes of a problem and to identify innovative solutions. In our experience, a single well-told anecdote can be more revealing than an entire spreadsheet of polling data.

Once we understand the issues at hand, the next step is to design and define outward-facing efforts that truly resonate with the target audience. This process begins with the creation of detailed personas, followed by the development of a comprehensive creative and communications platform—one that is brand-led, yet firmly action-focused.
